Meet our new summer 2019 interns, we are so excited to have them on the team. They have been working diligently alongside us to provide new insights and ensure only the top quality work for our clients. Continue reading below to learn more about them!

Sydney

Sydney St James is one of our Social Media Interns for summer 2019. She is a senior at the University of North Texas, majoring in Digital Retailing with a minor in Consumer Experiences. She is originally from San Antonio and is a self-proclaimed taco critic. This summer she has learned in depth about social media marketing and content creation while simultaneously completing her Google Ad words and Google Analytics certifications. Her favorite part about this internship, besides the people, has been the ability to explore different avenues in the agency and have the freedom to try different things. After she graduates in May 2020, she plans to stay in Texas and work at a digital marketing agency. When she is not in the office you can find her trying the latest restaurants, or hanging out with friends at a boba shop.

Katelin Brekken is one of our Social Media interns for summer 2019. She is a spring 2019 graduate from the University of North Texas, where she earned a degree in public relations. Her current role as a Social Media intern has her creating organic content, engaging in social listening tactics, and interacting with clients’ needs daily. She is passionate about sports, where she got her start in the journalism industry with the Dallas Stars in 2016. At AVX, Katelin is proud to have earned multiple industry certifications and enjoys copywriting, content creation, and learning more about the evolving world of social media. When she is not at the office, she spends most of her time playing with her labradoodle or out running on a nearby trail.

Wendy Lee is our Creative Intern for summer 2019. She is a senior at the University of Texas Arlington, majoring in Visual Communications and set to graduate in August 2019. At AVX, Wendy thrives under the guidance of her mentor/ creative manager, Dillon. She was able to work on actual client accounts, and received training on digital marketing such as Google Ads and Analytics. Her passion for design fuels her to learn something new every day. Besides actively participating in a design competition, which she also won several awards and nominations, she plans to continue her dreams in the digital design industry upon graduation. In her free time, Wendy enjoys watching movies and pinning new design inspirations.

Rylee DeHaven is our Paid Search intern for summer 2019. She is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Advertising with a minor in Business and is set to graduate in spring 2020. She is originally from Dallas and following graduation, she plans to stay in Texas. Her current role as a Paid Search intern includes creating and implementing new ad copy for paid search campaigns, as well as completing her Google AdWords and Analytics Certifications. At AVX, she has had the opportunity to explore the different departments within the agency and how to implement real paid search campaigns. When she is not in the office she enjoys going on runs, playing with her cat, and finding the best breakfast taco in the city!

John Itkoff is our Business Strategy & Analytics intern for summer 2019. He is a sophomore at Indiana University, majoring in Business. When he is not in the office, you can find him on the water fishing, at the golf course, or hanging out with his friends. Since starting at AVX, John has assisted in various new business proposals and has received his Google Analytics and Google AdWords certifications. His favorite part of the internship so far has been learning new areas of business analytics and being able to explore different aspects of the agency. He is excited to start his journey into the business world here at AVX and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
